Discover the World Appointed as North America Sales Partner for Great Western Railway (GWR)

Discover the World has been appointed by Great Western Railway (GWR) for sales representation in North America, supporting the rail operator’s plans to expand its international sales presence and strengthen trade engagement across the United States and Canada.
North America represents GWR’s largest overseas market, with Visit Britain forecasting the North American market to continue its strong growth through 2026. This, coupled with the recent launch of GWR’s Travel Trade platform, offering competitive rates for overseas Tour Operators, makes now the ideal opportunity for GWR to partner with Discover the World in North America.
The partnership marks a significant milestone for GWR as it looks to raise awareness of its extensive UK rail network among travel professionals and inbound tour operators. GWR operates high-speed and regional services from London Paddington to South West England, the Cotswolds, and South Wales—connecting some of the UK’s most iconic destinations, as well as key airport links including Heathrow and Gatwick. GWR is one of the most historic rail brands in the UK, originally founded during the Industrial Revolution. This legacy can be appealing in North America, where heritage brands often carry prestige and trust.
Under the new agreement, Discover the World will lead GWR’s sales and marketing strategy for North America, focusing on brand visibility, trade education, and revenue generation through key travel trade partnerships. The collaboration will also ensure GWR is represented at major industry events and within relevant tourism initiatives across the region.
