During the last few years there has been considerable consolidation of both wholesalers and retailers in New Zealand, to a point where we now have a large degree of vertical integration, with retail chains owning wholesale companies, and vice-versa. A summary is shown below.

helloworld – Part of helloworld in Australia. helloworld Retail Stores, with a mix of company owned and franchise stores and their broker brand, The Travel Brokers.
World Travellers Stores and a number of independent agents also purchase both land and air from helloworld.

House of Travel Product – Owned by the House of Travel Group and used to supply land and air to the HOT retail stores, the Global Travel network Group, and Orbit Travel – House of Travel’s corporate brand.

Infinity Holidays & Ticket Centre – owned by Flight Centre. Infinity supplies land and air. Ticket Centre is the in-house consolidator for all Flight Centre shops, and other branded stores such as Corporate Traveller, FCM Travel Solutions, Travel Associates, Executive Travel and their broker brand Travel Managers Group.

First Travel Group & You Travel – Cooperative of owner operators dealing mainly in upmarket leisure and corporate sectors. You Travel is their leisure brand. New Zealand Travel Brokers is First Travel Groups broker brand.

Percentage of Population Using the Internet - Short Haul in excess of 80%. Long Haul varies depending on destination. Domestic & to Australia believed to be around 60-70%.
