AUSTRALIA OFFICE CHANGES
SCOTTSDALE, June 2, 2009—Discover the World Marketing has named distinguished travel industry veteran Birgit Eisbrenner as its new Australia Director.
“We are delighted to have such an outstanding veteran joining our global network sales team,” said Jenny Adams, CEO of Discover the World Marketing. “Richard Cranmer, who has been the Director in Australia for 27 years, achieved a remarkable level of success and was Discover’s first Country Director. He is winding down his day-to-day involvement in our Sydney operations over the next few months and will remain as a senior adviser, working on a limited basis for a variety of our clients and business matters. Richard has been an invaluable part of our business.”
Eisbrenner has an extensive background in the travel industry, having worked for British Airways in Europe and in the London Head Office and as National Sales Manager in Australia. Prior to her British Airways experience, she worked for Iberia initially in sales and then as Marketing Product Manager. Her other marketing experience includes working for Telstra and Sabre Pacific where she was head of marketing solutions. She also worked as a contractor and a consultant in the travel industry. Clients included EB2 and Expedia.com.au. Prior to joining Discover, she had been working as a consultant with Richard Cranmer on the Royal Caribbean International account.
“With Birgit being guided by Richard, we anticipate a smooth transition, potential new business and additional growth for our current clients in Australia that include bmi, Copa Airlines, Hurtigruten Cruises, Hyatt Hotels Corporation, IBCS, Ukraine International Airlines, and US Airways,” added Adams.
“The transition also means Discover Australia will change from an entrepreneurial contract agreement to a wholly owned operation by Discover the World Marketing. This change between the head office and this flagship field office will result in even stronger mutual understanding, more frequent exchange of ideas and development of new solutions to business challenges faced by the network and headquarters.”
Discover the World Marketing has more than 27 years of experience operating a unique and truly global network consisting of 83 offices in 55 countries. Regardless of size, Discover offers simple, manageable and effective solutions to fit any company’s needs and budget.
