US travel trends: consumers increasingly use the Internet to research fares before purchasing directly from agents, airlines or online. 77% of Americans use the Internet. The lowest priced tickets are purchased six weeks prior to travel.
In 2011, agency sales increased 6.11% over 2010, although pax segments fell 2.9%.
